Rise and Fall 2 has delivered another jolt, as Karan Patel walks back in after reports of his exit. His comeback has shaken up the Rulers, and a team-based twist has since reshuffled the Penthouse and the Basement. Here is how the drama unfolded.
How Rise and Fall 2 Welcomed Karan Back
As reported by Telegraph India, the house was still adjusting after Raj Grover and Kaira Anu had left. Karan Patel then reappeared in the Tower, and it caught everyone off guard. Earlier this month, a few outlets said he had left the show, although nobody shared an official reason.
A vote among the Rulers settled where he belonged, either with the Workers or back in the Penthouse. Most Rulers wanted him back at the top, but Rishabh Jaiswal was unconvinced. So the vote hinted that Karan still carries plenty of goodwill among the Rulers.
The show began streaming on MX Player on September 26, with Virender Sehwag as host. In the opening price-pool game, Karan started with only ₹75,000 and still landed among the ten Power Rulers. Before the premiere, he had said the series offered him “a completely different arena as myself.” That line now feels fitting, because his stint has swung from Penthouse to exit and back again.
Tensions Build Between Rulers and Workers
Once back in the house, Karan Patel linked up with Niharika Tiwari. Before long, the pair were weighing up ways to turn Shehzad Poonawalla into an asset for their game. Since Niharika is the Ultimate Ruler, that talk could shape plans in the days ahead.
Meanwhile, Irina Rudakova told Shehzad that some of his comments had made her uneasy. He then cleared the air and apologised. Soon afterwards, a joke soured things between Gautam Gulati and Manish Kashyap. Downstairs, the Workers wondered about Sonam Khan’s loyalty, given the support shown towards Gautam.
These moments show how quickly the mood can shift in a show built around power. Small slips matter more when one group lives upstairs and the other waits in the Basement. Add a surprise return, and the Rulers suddenly have plenty to think about. With Karan back in the mix, the Penthouse now has one more player who can tilt the balance.

What the Batwara Means for Rise and Fall 2
Rise and Fall 2 then introduced the batwara, which broke the house into four separate teams of three. That means Rulers are now rivals, and the Workers have a separate battle going on below. Upstairs, Swara Bhasker, Sara Gurpal and Shehzad now play as a trio. Rishabh, Irina and Karan stand opposite them, while Niharika, the Ultimate Ruler, oversees the contest.
In the Basement, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary teamed up with Gautam and Jashwant Singh. Kajal Raghwani, Sonam and Manish became their opponents in the contest. Next, each team had to ally with a group from the opposite floor, which put trust on the line. Irina, Rishabh and Karan joined hands with Priyanka, Jashwant and Gautam. Sara, Swara and Shehzad, in contrast, paired with Kajal, Sonam and Manish.
Trouble began when Sara asked Priyanka if she was ready to play. Priyanka said her fellow Workers had refused to play on Gautam’s behalf, which Sara dismissed as a lie. The argument showed the Basement alliance was less solid than it looked. That kind of doubt can spread in a game like this. Still, with loyalties now spread across both floors, the coming episodes could get harder to call.
